Introduction of YBCI

Founded in 1985, Youth Buddhist Communications, Inc. (YBCI) aims at advocating the Triple Gem in Buddhism – the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha and spreading the Buddha’s teachings.  We encourage the application of Buddha’s teachings into our daily lives and the establishment of pure land in the human’s world through mind purification of everyone.  The founder and executive-in-charge of YBCI is Teacher Wei Qi.  Our center is not huge but big enough to provide a cozy place for those interested in Buddhism to read some Buddhist literature and obtain Buddhist CDs and DVDs and small souvenirs.

YBCI’s activities are many and educational in nature.   Among the major ones are the publication of the YBCI monthly issue, which advertises and reports the dharma functions and activity updates of the Buddhist temples in the tri-state area without charge; broadcasting Cantonese Buddhist radio program “Endless Light” on Chinese commercial channels including New York Chinese Radio (www.chineseradiony.com).  Endless Light radio program is presented in various vivid ways including drama stories, zen words from masters and questions and answers, with the purpose of introducing the Buddha’s teachings to the public.  The Endless Light program is sponsored by YBCI, produced by volunteers, and recorded in CDs for free distribution at the center.  In addition, YBCI organizes Buddhist talks and seminars at various community halls, and distribute Buddhist audio materials such as “Buddhist Life Talks”, “Speeches by Master Hsing Yun”, “Speeches by Master Hui Ming” and “Supernatural Stories of the Holy Mountain Pu Tuo”
